Mari kita mulai berdamai dengan diri kita sendiri lebih dulu&#8221;, tegasnya.<\/p><p>Mewakili Pengawas Yayasan USI, Drs.Binsar Sumbayak juga turut memberi sambutan. Menurutnya, kata kunci kehidupan memang adalah damai, karena damai itu indah. Bahkan damai yang dimulai dari diri sendiri, keluarga lalu ke lingkungan yang lebih besar. &#8220;Oleh karena itu sebagai orang yang berpendidikan dan juga mahasiswa yang sedang menimba ilmu, tema Natal ini sangat menginspirasi,&#8221;katanya.<\/p><p>Natal kali ini mengambil tema: &#8220;Allah Hadir untuk Menyelamatkan&#8221; (Matius 1: 21-24). Sedangkan Sub Tema adalah, Dengan Semangat Natal Mari Kita Tunjukkan Sikap Damai diantara Sesama, Terkhusus Keluarga Besar Universitas Simalungun.<\/p><p>Dalam pesan khotbahnya, Ephorus Gereja Kristen Protestan Simalungun (GKPS). Pdt. Jhon Cristian Saragih, STh, M.Sc mengingatkan, bahwa Natal harus mendatangkan damai sejahtera bagi umat manusia, bukan sekadar selebrasi. Sebab Yesus datang bukan untuk dirinya sendiri tetapi untuk keselamatan umat manusia.<\/p><p>&#8220;Oleh karena itu, Natal harus menjadi sebuah proses rekonsiliasi dan perdamaian bagi semua orang,&#8221; tandasnya.<\/p><p>Ditambahkan, dalam memaknai tema Natal ini, USI sebagai sebuah keluarga besar, semua yang ada di dalamnya harus mengedepankan kebersamaan melalui perbuatan-perbuatan besar yang berdampak inklusif bagi banyak orang.<\/p><p>Suasana perayaan Natal yang dirangkai dengan drama musikal, puisi, dan aneka persembahan lagu pujian dari berbagai grup dari unit-unit kelembagaan USI, berlangsung hikmad dipandu pembawa acara, Natanael Saragih, MPd. Sebelumnya, di awal acara, Ketua Panitia, Ir.Marlindoaman Saragih, telah menyampaikan laporan kegiatan serta ungkapan terimakasih serta apresiasi kepada semua pihak yang telah berpartisipasi dan berkontribusi dalam menyukseskan perayaan Natal ini.
